12 Quotes from the Saints on the Holy Eucharist

Today, in the Western lung of the Catholic Church, we celebrate the great Solemnity of Corpus Christi – the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. We commemorate the great sacrament of the Holy Eucharist which Jesus Christ gave us the night before he died during the Last Supper with the Apostles. The Holy Eucharist is the Sacrament of all sacraments!

Quoting from Lumen Gentium 11, the Catechism of the Catholic Church 1324 states,

“The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’ ‘The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are orientated toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.’”

I have written close to 180 blog posts on the Saints of the Church over the years. My family has a devotion to many of them. We invoke their intercession daily in our evening prayers.
