Catholics in the Public Square is a document written by Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix. It lays out the lay person’s role in politics, most importantly the role of the Catholic politician in the public square.
So many politicians here in the US and around the world claim to be Catholic, but in reality, they are Catholic In Name Only. So many reject the teachings of the Catholic Church and only use the Catholic faith when it serves their purpose of getting elected or re-elected.
I encourage you to read this document by Bishop Olmsted. I further encourage you to forward it to your Catholic family members and friends. The document is a Question and Answer format. It is very easy to read and not very long. Click the picture below to read the document.
