Since yesterday was the Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church, I found today fitting to focus on Our Lady’s relationship to the Holy Trinity, a relationship that she has known well since the Angel Gabriel came to her at the Annunciation. This relationship that Our Lady shares in with the Trinity is also mirrored in the tri-fold dimensions of the Holy Family. The love that they have for one another is the same love that exists between the three persons of the Holy Trinity.

Today’s article takes us back to an article I wrote a few years ago when I wrote about Our Lady of America. Not to be confused with Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of America appeared to Sr. Mary Ephrem between 1954-1959 right here on US soil. It is a fascinating story and apparition that must be moved along in our country and the universal Church. If you have never read my articles on Our Lady of America, I would encourage you to read Part 1 and Part 2 today.

In one of the appearances to Sr. Mary Ephrem (November 8, 1954), Our Lady speaks about the importance of the Holy Family and how the Holy Trinity dwelled within that household. I believe that this message shows the importance of Our Lady’s relationship to the Trinity in relation to that of the Holy Family –

‘It is the wish of my Son that fathers and mothers strive to imitate me and my chaste spouse in our holy life at Nazareth.  We practiced the simple virtues of family life, Jesus our Son being the center of all our love and activity. The Holy Trinity dwelt with us in a manner far surpassing anything that can ever be imagined. For ours was the earthly paradise where once again God walked among men.

As in our little home no sin was to be found, so it is the wish of the Heart of my Son and my Immaculate Heart that sin should, as far as possible, be unheard of in the homes of our children.

The Divine Trinity will dwell in your midst only if you are faithful in practicing the virtues of our life at Nazareth. Then, you also, my children, you also will become another paradise. God will then walk among you and you will have peace.

I need your help to bring peace into the world. Do not disappoint me.’”

A few years later, in 1957, during Our Lady’s appearance should would reveal herself with a new title, Our Lady of the Indwelling Trinity.

For us, she is saying that we must also invite the Holy Trinity into our homes to dwell among our families. She seeks us to live lives of purity and to always be in a state of Sanctifying Grace. When our souls are pure, we will then be ready for the Holy Trinity to dwell within us. We see this point clearly in the New Testament from the words of St. Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, when he says, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Cor. 3:16). We also see it from Our Lord himself when he says, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him” (Jn 14:23).

Are we open and ready to invite Our Lady and the Holy Trinity into our homes?
